Frequently Asked Questions
Answers before you ask.
Common questions about training, nutrition, programming, and memberships at Firmvault. Don't see yours? Just ask us.
Training
Absolutely. A large part of our practice is first-time lifters. Your first session is a movement assessment, and your program starts at your level — even if that means an empty bar. Technique is coached from day one.
No. That's what coaching is for. Getting "in shape first" is a common delay that keeps people from ever starting. We meet you where you are and build from there.
In most cases, yes. Our coaches are experienced working around old injuries and, where appropriate, strengthening the affected area. We'll assess during your consultation and, if needed, ask you to clear training with your physician.
Comfortable training clothes, indoor training shoes (flat-soled for lifting is ideal), water, and a willingness to learn. We provide everything else — belts, chalk, bands, and the program.
Nutrition
Yes — with Monthly Coaching and Unlimited memberships. We set protein and calorie targets aligned to your goal and check in regularly. We focus on sustainable habits, not crash diets or rigid meal plans.
Most people need very few. We may recommend protein and creatine for specific goals, but supplements are never required. Food, sleep, and consistent training come first.
For newer lifters and those returning to training, yes — "recomposition" is real. For more advanced trainees, we sequence phases: a muscle-building phase followed by a fat-loss phase, or vice versa, based on your priority.
Programming
Your own. Every program is written for one person based on your assessment, goals, schedule, and history. It evolves as your numbers change — it's never a copy-paste template.
Programs run in blocks of 4–8 weeks, then re-assess and rewrite. Within a block, load and reps progress weekly. Your coach adjusts based on how you're responding — not on a fixed calendar.
Yes. Many clients blend strength-sport goals with general conditioning and mobility. Your coach balances the disciplines so they support — rather than compete with — each other.
Memberships
No. All packages are month-to-month or session-based. We'd rather earn your continued training than lock you in. Annual paid-in-full options are available at a discount if you want them.
A conversation about your goals and history, a movement assessment, a tour of the facility, and a recommended starting program — whether you train with us or not. About 45 minutes, no pressure.
Yes. We coach small groups of 2–4 athletes at a per-person discount. It's a great option if you want coached training with a training partner or partner. Ask us about availability.
